Capitalism is compatible with fascism. Benito Mussolini described fascism very simply by contrasting it with socialism. He said that the government owns the corporations under socialism and that corporations own the government under fascism. It was corporate sponsorship that made Hitler's rise to power possible. The kind of dictatorship Hitler was selling to the German people appealed to German industrialists, whose strictly run workplaces reflected a similar style of rule. In order to reap the most profits from their exploitations of humanity, it serves capitalists to have workers following orders without question and marching in lockstep. They must have looked upon Hitler as some kind of angel from Heaven. In a society where free thought is impossible, no one will protest if a scientist working for a chemical corporation needs to experiment on a human being as a lab animal. Think of it as the ultimate deregulation. With magnates like Conrad Black telling reporters that he favors social Darwinism, I don't think I'm out of line by suggesting that some capitalists might even be closet Nazis. But when they want you to hate someone, like they wanted you to hate me as they committed three years of constant fraud, from 2007 to 2010, with words and music stolen from my erased posts, they call their target 'Hitler'. |
