Facing Truth Alone

Facing Truth Alone
When a bank robber gets caught stealing a tiny fraction of a wealthy bank's assets, no one argues that he is a criminal and deserves to go to prison. But when a wealthy corporation like NBC or WEA/Warner gets caught stealing every last piece of a poor man's property, there's a debate about it! And the debate goes on at the victim's expense for years. Here I am, minding my own business in a coffee shop, and the cashier is whispering to another staff about how I shouldn't be allowed on the street after I already proved that these superstars stole my songs.

And that's some song they let Nickelback steal from me after they were probably already incarcerated if I caught them in 2007. They let this band of dunderheads steal an elegantly phrased argument against capitalism. That must cause their listeners irreversible brain damage.

I don't think life is worth living in a world where evil banks and corporations own our minds. Does anyone ever tell the truth around here outside of a stolen stand-up routine? Some great world for your children: 'Never face reality, Billy, and maybe you'll grow up to be as successful as your father.' I'm only still alive because I know there is a God and I know that it is by God's will that I must suffer this ridiculous and outrageous torment. I wish I was still atheist so I could kill myself and leave this hopeless world.

Are the stars in jail? No, because the media isn't talking about it. Oh, then are you alive? No, because the media isn't talking about it.
